Vincent van Gogh Café Terrace at Night Print
Pickup currently not available
Painted in 1888 in the French town of Arles, Café Terrace at Night marks a pivotal moment in Van Gogh’s career. It was the first painting in which he experimented with depicting a starry sky — a motif he would famously revisit in his iconic Starry Night. Unlike typical night scenes of the era, Van Gogh refused to use black in the sky. Instead, he lit up the night with bold blues, deep violets and golden gaslight — creating a warm yet mysterious ambiance that feels as fresh today as it did over 130 years ago.
